LOCKSTEP RELEASES BACKUP FOR WORKGROUPS™ VERSION 4.0
Affordable, Disk-Based Backup Software Designed for Small and Mid-Size Businesses
Now Supports Windows Vista

Scottsdale, Arizona USA, 5 June 2007 -- Lockstep Systems, Inc. today announced the release of Backup for Workgroups version 4.0, which now supports Windows Vista. Backup for Workgroups is a disk-based automatic backup software program designed for Windows servers, desktops and laptops.

“With the introduction of support for Windows Vista, Backup for Workgroups has expanded its existing security measures to include support for Vista’s User Account Control (UAC), multi-user access and secure logon access to remote files included in the backup,” said Karl Forster, president of Lockstep Systems, Inc. “Businesses that are concerned about keeping their original data safe should also be concerned about keeping their backup data safe. They should use backup software that inherently protects the backup data.  Backup for Workgroups is a good choice because it contains many features preventing unauthorized access to its backup data.”

Backup for Workgroups is designed with small to midsize businesses in mind – keeping installation, use and maintenance simple and straightforward for non-technical users, while using affordable, faster, more reliable disk-based storage equipment instead of tape. The software delivers key enterprise-class features at an affordable price; keeping overall data protection costs to a minimum.

Backup for Workgroups allows small businesses to quickly and easily set up and implement a comprehensive backup and disaster recovery solution using any disk-based storage device of their choice, such as internal and external hard drives, USB hard drives, shared folders on other computers, NAS devices and RAID devices. Backup for Workgroups can be used to backup just one Windows computer or several, while storing backup data to one disk-based device or spanning multiple disk-based devices as part of a primary storage group. Drive spanning support allows end users to easily increase the size of their backup storage as their business grows.

End users may try Backup for Workgroups free of charge for 30 days by downloading the trial software from http://www.backup-for-workgroups.com. Pricing for Backup for Workgroups starts at $99 per client; $199 per Open-File Add-On, with volume discounts available. Current Backup for Workgroup users should contact Lockstep Systems, Inc. for upgrade pricing. Partner and reseller inquiries welcome.
