LOCKSTEP INTRODUCES OPEN FILE ADD-ON VOLUME PRICING
FOR BACKUP FOR WORKGROUPSTM SOFTWARE

Scottsdale, Arizona USA, 13 January 2005 -- Lockstep Systems, Inc. today announced the availability of volume pricing for the Backup for Workgroups Open File Add-On.

Backup for Workgroups is the award-winning, disk-based backup and disaster recovery software utility designed for small and mid-size businesses.  Easily installed on any networked Windows computer, Backup for Workgroups uses hard drives for storage in place of tapes, resulting in a more reliable and less expensive backup solution.  Backup data can also be mirrored to removable or external hard drives for off-site data storage, an integral part of an overall disaster recovery plan.

The Open File Add-On can be used in conjunction with the Backup for Workgroups Client software on any Windows XP or Windows 2003 computer.  When used on a Windows 2003 server, backup coverage is expanded to include in-use (and normally locked) databases such as MS-SQL, Exchange Server and Active Directory.  Using the Open File Add-On on a Windows XP computer allows a backup to be performed while any application is in use, which means that vital local databases such as Microsoft Outlook or Intuit’s QuickBooks are included in the backup process.

The volume pricing for the Backup for Workgroups Open File Add-On is as follows:  quantity (1) license = $199.00; quantity (2 – 4) licenses = $129.00 each; quantity (5 – 9) licenses = $79.00 each; quantity (10 – 24) licenses = $59.00 each; quantity (50 – 99) licenses = $49.00 each; quantity (100+) licenses = $39.00 each.

Trial Version Availability.  A thirty (30) day trial version of Backup for Workgroups is available for download from http://www.backup-for-workgroups.com.  During the trial period, the software allows for the backup of ten (10) Windows computers, with each Client having the ability to include Open File Add-On support.
